Consent to electronic records and signatures

Draft — pending attorney review
This document describes how the platform actually works, but it has not been reviewed by counsel and is not yet in force. It must not be published as final, and it is not legal advice.
What you are agreeing to
Living Sobriety lets your recovery residence send you documents to read and sign electronically — for example a resident agreement, house rules, or a payment authorization. Before you sign anything, you are asked to agree that it is acceptable to receive and sign these records electronically instead of on paper.
You do not have to agree. If you would rather handle paperwork on paper, tell your house manager and they will arrange it.
Your right to a paper copy
You may ask for a free paper copy of anything you have signed, at any time, by asking your recovery residence or contacting us. Asking for a paper copy does not cancel a signature you already gave.
Withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw this consent at any time by telling your recovery residence in writing. Withdrawing applies to future documents — it does not undo signatures you have already given, which remain valid.
What you need to read and sign
A device with an internet connection and a current web browser, and an email address you can reach. To keep your own copies, you need a way to view and save PDF files.
If you cannot meet these, your house can arrange for you to sign in person on a house device, with a staff member present as a witness.
Keeping your records
Every document you sign is saved as a PDF that includes a certificate page: your name, the date and time in both UTC and your house's local time, the network address and browser used, how your identity was verified, and a cryptographic fingerprint of the exact document you were shown.
You can download your signed documents from your portal at any time — including after you move out. We do not delete them when a stay ends.
Keeping your contact details current
Tell your recovery residence if your email address changes, or you may stop receiving documents you need to see. You can update it yourself in your portal profile.
How your signature is recorded
When you sign, we record that you affirmatively agreed to this disclosure, the moment you signed, the network address and browser you used, and — if you signed in person — the staff member who witnessed it and how they confirmed your identity. This record exists so the signature can be shown to be yours if it is ever questioned.
